You can explain your patterns. You have read about them, maybe talked them through in therapy before, and you can trace exactly where they came from. You are still stuck in them. Understanding why you do something hasn't necessarily stopped you from doing it. Sometimes, it just gives you more to think about.
That gap is where I work. Insight is real and it is useful, and on its own it rarely changes what you feel in the moment. I help clients move from knowing about their emotions to experiencing them differently, which helps create change that lasts beyond the therapy room.
Many of the people I see have spent years holding everything together, managing how they come across, and meeting standards they would never apply to anyone else. None of that is required in here. There is no need to perform being okay, and you are not expected to arrive with your thoughts organized.
I am warm and curious, and I will gently challenge you when I think it will help. We slow things down. We look at what sits underneath a reaction, what it is trying to accomplish, and what keeps you caught in the same loop. Some sessions are conversational, others are more experiential or more practical, depending on what you need that day.
I hope for you to reach a point where you can trust your own emotions, instincts, and needs, and stop waiting to become a different person before your life is allowed to feel like yours.
